PORTRAITS

For me, the word portrait does not just mean an image of a person. Portrait to me is capturing the essence, the spirit of a person, as they are occurring and how life is occurring for them, in a very specific moment.

When shooting artists, I like to include a lot of background and grab them in their "natural" environment, or work space. That, to me, is as much a part of who they are as is their face.
